Singing Voice Assessment
	Beginning 1 pts	Developing 2 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Advanced 4 pts
Tone	Beginning Student uses a tone that lacks clarity, vibrancy or freedom in every note sung.<BR> <BR> Student uses breath inefficiently with no phrasing or support of the tone.	Developing Student uses a tone that is inconsistent in clarity, freedom and vibrancy from note to note.<BR> <BR> Student uses the breath with inconsistent efficiency.	Proficient Student uses a mostly clear, free, and vibrant tone with some breathiness in high or low notes in student's range.<BR> <BR> Student uses the breath with moderate efficiency needing to take 1-2 breaths in non-musical places.	Advanced Student uses a natural, clear, and vibrant tone free from tension when singing the song. High notes are sung with clear tone as well as low notes and middle range notes.<BR> <BR> Student uses breath efficiently to sing the song and prepares the breath before beginning a musical phrase.
Rhythmic accuracy	Beginning Student did not performed 5 or more rhythms incorrectly in the performance of the musical example.	Developing Student sings rhythms inconsistenly correctly or sings incorrect rhythms 3-4 tims.	Proficient Student sings most rhythms correctly in the musical example performed with 1-2 mistakes.	Advanced Student sings every rhythm correctly in the musical example performed placing consonants in the correct rhythmic places.
Pitch Matching	Beginning Student matches pitch with limited accuracy - makes more than 3 mistakes.	Developing Student matches pitch with moderate accuracy - makes 3 or fewer mistakes.	Proficient Student matches pitch with moderate accuracy - makes 2 or fewer mistakes.	Advanced Student matches pitch with accuracy - makes 1 or fewer mistakes.
