The student is able to use all of the literary elements to re-tell the story in order. Some prompts may need to be given. (characters, setting,problem, solution, beginning, middle and end)
Good
The student is able to use all of the literary elements to re-tell in detail without any prompts given to them. (characters, setting,problem, solution, beginning, middle and end)
Details
Poor
The student does not include any details in their re-telling, they only give the bare minimum. Most times the details are not in order. Needs assistance from the teacher.
Fair
The student is able to recall some details in the story. The details may be in order. The student may need some assistance to complete this.
Good
The student is able to recall several details from the story without any prompts. The details are in order.
Connections
Poor
The student can not make a connection to the story and does not give a reason why.
Fair
The student makes a basic connection to the story and may or may not have a reason why.
Good
The student makes a solid connection to the story and can share a reason why or a story that is similar to the one they read.
