Summary	Poor Retelling is missing two or more story elements and does not have details from the story.	Fair Retelling may be missing one story element or does not include details from the story.	Good Retelling includes all required story elements and uses details from the story as support.
Character Traits	Poor May be missing some main characters, only listed one trait per person or has no evidence statement for any characters.	Fair Lists all main characters, multiple traits but is missing evidence statement for some of the characters.	Good Lists all main characters, multiple traits and gives an evidence statement for one of the traits for each character.
Setting	Poor Description uses only one or two senses to describe the setting.	Fair Description uses at least three senses but may not be written in complete sentences.	Good Detailed paragraph written in complete sentences using at least three different senses to describe the book's setting.
