Pronunciation	Insufficient Does not attempt to use any correct pronunciation. Pronunciation hinders communication.	Fair 5- oral mistakes. Pronunciation somewhat hinders communication. Hears but does not self-correct.	Good 3-4 oral mistakes. Responses mostly comprehensible. Pronunciation does not hinder communication. Hears and self-corrects incorrect pronunciation.	Outstanding 0 - 2 oral mistakes, but is easily understood by any listener. Hears and self-corrects any incorrect pronunciation. Pronunciation does not hinder communication.
Accuracy of Grammar	Insufficient Does not attempt to use correct grammatical concepts.	Fair 6 or more mistakes. Does not place words in correct order (i.e. adjectives after nouns).	Good 3-4 mistakes. Responses mostly appropriate and adequately developed.	Outstanding Excellent control of basic linguistic patterns.
Fluency	Insufficient Does not attempt beyond saying basic words in conversation or presentation	Fair Gives only one word responses to a direct question. Attempts to ask question, but needs to repeat it. Could not be easily understood.	Good Can answer in complete basic sentences of 3 or more words.
