Technique Posture, hand placement, finger technique.	Advanced Excellent posture and bench/seat placement, Excellent finger technique/hand placement.	Proficient Very good posture, very good finger technique/hand placement, minor problems with technique.	Developing Posture acceptable, technique acceptable. Sounds better than it looks.	Minimal Minimal performance technique, slouches, uncomfortable.	Poor No performance technique. Does not know where to position the seat.
Accuracy Notes, rhythms, musical signs, sound quality.	Advanced No audible mistakes, clear and accurate sound, good musicality.	Proficient Minimal mistakes made but with quick recovery.	Developing Some mistakes, slow recovery, audience may be aware of mistakes, good effort.	Minimal Some mistakes, facial expression draws attention to mistakes, poor recovery.	Poor Completely inaccuracte and incomprehensible as a piece of written when listening to the piece being played.
Tempo and Dynamics Steadiness of tempo, use of appropriate musical expression.	Advanced Great rhythm and tempo right on, very expressive, correct use of dynamics (where applicable.)	Proficient Decent rhythm and tempo, few errors, pretty good use of dynamics (where applicable.)	Developing Average rhythm and tempo, average dynamics (where applicable), non-expressive.
