Map includes at least 5 reference symbols, a key with explanations for those symbols, as well as a compass rose.	Fair Map project has most necessary elements. It may be missing student name and title of map on the top, includes only 2-4 symbols, includes only 2-4 symbol explanations in key, or is missing a compass rose).	Poor Map project is missing many elements. It may be missing student name and title of map on the top, and/or includes less than 2 symbols, or less than 2 symbol explanations in key, and/or is missing a compass rose.	Totals
Accuracy	Good Compass is represented accurately as learned. Map accurately illustrates classroom.	Fair Either compass rose is not accurately represented or map does not accurately illustrate clsssroom.	Poor Compass rose is not accurately represented and map does not accurately illustrate classroom elements.	Totals
Neatness	Good The map is labeled (e.g. "My Classroom") and the key is also labeled ("legend" may be substituted for the word key).	Fair Either the map is labeled but not the key or the key is labeled and the map is not.	Poor Both the map and the key are not labeled at all.	Totals
