Criteria
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Neatness & Organization	Poor Lab report fails to meet two or three of the expectations for neatness	Fair Lab report fails to meet one of the expectations for organization and neatness	Good 1. Lab is legibly written in blue or black pen.<BR> 2. Lab sections are in correct order and labeled.<BR> 3. Pages are numbered & entered in Table of Contents<BR> 4. Mistakes are lined through rather than covered in white-out.
Observations & Data	Poor Student has recorded data after the completion of the investigation OR fails to meet both expectations 2 and 3 of the Data section.	Fair Lab report fails to meet either expectation 2 OR 3 of the data section	Good 1. Data/observations recorded directly into lab notebook during investigation<BR> 2. Data/observations neatly organized (in tables/graph if appropriate) & easy to interpret<BR> 3. Data is accurate & includes appropriate units of measure, calculations shown
Claims & Conclusion	Poor Claims do not answer the focus question accurately or clearly AND evidence to support claims is not specific or is not taken directly from the data	Fair Lab report fails to meet either expectation 1, 4 or 5 OR Claims answer the "purpose" question but is not well supported with specific data from the investigation	Good 1. Prediction re-stated & states whether it was supported by evidence<BR> 2. Claims answer the "purpose" question accurately & clearly<BR> 3. Claims supported by specific examples & data as evidence<BR> 4. Discusses/identifies relevant sources of error<BR> 5. Accurately uses related/appropriate scientific vocabulary
