Journal Article Reflection This rubric is designed to evaluate a student's reflection on an assigned video.
	Poor A poor job of providing the required information is performed by the writer. 0 pts	Fair The assigned category needs work. 2 pts	Good The writer does a good job applying the category to the video reflection. 4 pts	Excellent The writer completely covers all required information and does it well. 5 pts
Grammar, etc. The writer uses standard English and correct grammar throughout the reflection.	Poor No attempt is made at composing a clear reflection with spelling and grammar checked and proper paragraphs that guide the reader.	Fair There are numerous grammar and spelling errors. Paragraphs arbitrary and content /intent is unclear.	Good There are some spelling and grammar errors throughout the paper. Paragraphs present ideas in somewhat orderly and logical fashion.	Excellent No/minor errors or in grammar and spelling. Paragraphs reflect ideas well, logically and clearly.
Summary A brief summary of the video is included in the reflection.	Poor No summary is given.	Fair A summary of the video is attempted, but is severly lacking in more than one area.	Good A summary of the video is provided, but is lacking in one area.	Excellent A brief summary of the video is given with all the required information.
Implications/reflections The reflection contains information on how this topic might apply to course material.	Poor No implications/reflections are mentioned.	Fair One implication/reflection is mentioned, but is poorly developed in the reflection.	Good One or more implications or reflections are given and are sufficiently clarified.	Excellent Implications and reflections are clearly explained and demonstrate critical thinking skills
Content Thought and analysis of the issues presented clearly and logically.	Poor Shows little or no thought/analysis of the topic. Ideas not presented clearly or logically.	Fair Some thought/analysis shown. Poorly developed.	Good Adequate thought/analysis is shown. Ideas expressed but not always clearly or logically.	Excellent Excellent thought and analysis with well-developed ideas expressed clearly and logically.
