Posture & Position 5 pts	Exemplary Excellent posture. Sits up on edge of chair with feet flat on the floor. Instrument position is excellent.	Acceptable Very good posture. Sits up and off the back of chair with feet flat on the floor. Instrument position mostly correct.	Limited Posture needs improvement. In back of chair, slouching, and/or legs crossed. Instrument position needs improvement.	Deficient Poor posture. In back of chair, slouching, and/or legs crossed. Instrument position is incorrect. Needs individual attention.
Rhythm 5 pts	Exemplary Strong sense of pulse. All rhythms performed accurately.	Acceptable Basic sense of pulse. Some rhythms are incorrect.	Limited Inconsistent pulse. Many rhythms are incorrect.	Deficient No obvious sense of pulse. Rhythms are incorrect. Needs individual attention.
Left Hand & Intonation 5 pts	Exemplary Excellent, relaxed left hand shape and great intonation.	Acceptable Mostly good left hand shape and intonation.	Limited Some problems with left hand shape and/ or intonation.	Deficient Poor left hand shape and/ or intonation. No tunnels. Needs individual attention.
Note & Bowing Accuracy 5 pts	Exemplary Excellent note accuracy. No note mistakes. All bowings including bow lifts are correct.	Acceptable Good note accuracy and most bowings are observed. Tone & Bow Technique 5 pts	Exemplary Excellent ringing notes. Playing is very confident with a strong sound. Bow is straight. Bow hold is correct and relaxed.	Acceptable Most ringing tones. Playing is fairly confident with a somewhat strong sound. Bow is usually straight. Bow hold is mostly correct but may be slightly tight.	Limited Some ringing tones.
