Development	Emerging Competence The pragraph has scant development; it relies mostly on general statements that are not supported with evidence.	Competent The paragraph has some development; it attempts to support the topic with details and examples - but may still include an unsupported sentence or two.	Advanced The paragraph is well developed, shows understanding of the topic, and includes details and examples as evidence and support.
Revision	Emerging Competence Many grammar errors - such as spelling and sentence errors are present, and it may need work on development and organization.	Competent The paragraph has few grammar errors, and organization and development have been addressed to a degree.	Advanced The paragraph is free of grammar errors, and changes have been made to improve organization and development.
