Sentence Structure	Excellent All sentences have correct punctuation and capitalization and spacing. Writing is neat.	Proficient Most sentences have correct punctuation and capitalization and spacing. Writing is neat.	Emerging There are 1-3 punctuation or capitalization errors. Contains little legible writing and use of spacing between letters and words	Poor There are many punctuation and capitalization errors. Sentences are poorly written and structured. Writing is not legible with no spacing between words.
Body of letter	Excellent Contains all five parts of the body.(Thank you for last year's gifts, how are you, good boy or girl, list of gifts and ending sentence.)
