Does Not Meet Expectations

Student does not utilize technology to create their book.
Poor

Student uses minimal technology to create their poetry portfolio. (i.e. types their poems but does not utilize clip art, Publisher, Prezi, etc, to illustrate their work)
Satisfactory

Student utilizes a minimum of two technology based publishers such as Word, Publisher, Prezi, etc. to create an engaging and creative portfolio book.
Exceeds Expectations

Student utilizes at least three technology based publishers to illustrate and create an engaging portfolio book of completed poetry works.
Word Choice

Does Not Meet Expectations

Student does not vary vocabulary in their poetry.The same words are repeated throughout every poem. Language is very vague and confusing.
Poor

Many of the words are still oddly arranged and there is some variation in word choice, but it is very limited.
Satisfactory

Words are mostly unique with little repetition. Poems create a picture for the reader and the words flow in the poetry.
Exceeds Expectations

Writer uses unique and very varied word choice. Words are consistently creating an image for the reader and are specific. Student writes with a clear intention and utilizes a thesaurus.
