Self-Advocacy Clarifying Assignments Self-Advocacy Clarifying Assignments When student is given an assignment he/she does not readily understand (due to multiple steps, wording of the assignment, or even perceived errors in the assignment), he/she will independently ask questions (either through email, in virtual class, or by phone) of teacher and/or politely state why the directive is confusing (even if it means pointing out a perceived error). Asks for clarification	Poor After prompting does not contact teacher.	Fair After prompting contacts teacher him/herself (either via email, in virtual class, or by telephone) to clarify item of concern.
