ATTENDANCE 50 %	Excellent Student was present for every class.	Very Good Student was absent for 1 class but provided instructor with an excused absence.	Good Student was absent for 2 classes but provided instructor with excused absences.	--- Student was absent for 3 or more classes but with excused absences.	Satisfactory Any 1 absence without excuse or equivalent tardiness.	Unsatisfactory Any 2 absences without excuse or equivalent tardiness.	Attendance Failure Three or more unexcused absences or equivalent tardiness.
PUNCTUALITY 50 %	Excellent Student was always on time and early for class and never left early.	Very Good Student was tardy <30 min ONCE with a documented excuse.	Good Student was tardy <30 min TWICE (*or more) with documented excuses.	--- Student was tardy <30 min ONCE without excuse.	Satisfactory Student was tardy <30 min Twice (*) with ONE documented excuse.	Unsatisfactory Student was tardy >30 min without documented excuse.	Attendance Failure Student was tardy <30 min six or more times OR Was tardy >30 min three or more times without excuses.

Class Contribution 50 %	Excellent Student contributes frequently to class discussions. Often initiating conversation. Volunteers answers frequently.	Very Good Student usually contributes to class discussions and tries to initiate conversation. Volunteers answers often.	Good Student sometimes contributes to discussions and only sometimes initiates conversation. Volunteers to answer questions sometimes.	Satisfactory Student only contributes to class discussions when directly asked. Only volunteers to answer questions occasionally.	Needs Improvement Student only contributes when directly asked and rarely volunteers answers.	Unsatisfactory Student contributes reluctantly even if when directly asked and rarely if ever volunteers answers.	Participation Failure Student rarely speaks in class. Usually does not contribute to discussions. Never initiates conversation. Rarely if ever volunteers answers.
General Effort 50 %	Excellent Student clearly demonstrates excellent effort to participate in all aspects of the class. Is always well prepared and organised.	Very Good Student demonstrates very good effort to participate in the class. Is usually well prepared and organised	Good Student shows good effort to participate in the class. Is mostly organised and prepared for class.	Satisfactory Student demonstrates satisfactory effort to participate in the class. Is often well prepared and organised.	Needs Improvement Student tries to participate to the best of their ability but efforts are unsatisfactory. Student is organised but ill prepared for class.	Unsatisfactory Student reluctantly participates in the class. Student is often disorganised and ill prepared for class.	Participation Failure Student displays an aversion to participate in the class. Student is frequently disorganised and/or ill-prepared.
