Students will give an informative speech on a honors project and a final product. They will be assessed on content and delivery.

Consistent and effective volume, articulation, and expression were present in the speaker's voice. Appropriate rate and pausing were employed.

The student spoke loudly and clearly enough to be easily understood. The speaker used adequate expression and rate.

The student could be heard most of the time but at certain points was inaudible. Little expression was shown.
Needs Improvement

Audience had difficulty hearing and/or understanding much of the speech due to low volume. Very little expression was shown.

The speaker looked at all of the audience most of the time.

The speaker looked up occasionally and focused on only a few people during the speech.

The speaker maintained good posture. Movements were purposeful and enhanced the delivery of the speech. Facial expressions were comfortable and showed enthusiasm for the topic.

The speaker maintained adequate posture and non-distracting movement during the speech. Expressions were comfortable.
Fair

The speaker had some distracting movement during delivery. Facial expressions seemed forced or absent.
Needs Improvement

The speaker's posture and expression indicated a lack of enthusiasm or comfortableness with the speech. Some movements were very distracting and made the speech difficult to follow.
Understanding of Topic

Excellent

Student clearly understood the topic and were able to hit the key points and answer all questions completely.
Good

Student understood the topic and were able to give key points but appeared unsure at times.
Fair

Student gave little information but was able to answer some questions related to topic
Needs Improvement

Student did not Understand the topic as evidence by inaccurate information.
Final Product

Excellent

Student provides a final product that goes above and beyond the expectation established in the initial meeting. The final product demonstrates a strong and comprehensive understanding of the honor project. Less than 3 grammatical errors and or misspellings.
Good

Student provides a final product that demonstrates an understanding of the project. The product has less than 4 grammatical errors and or misspellings.
Fair

Student provides a final product that somewhat demonstrates an understanding of the project. The product has more than 4 grammatical errors and or misspellings.
Needs Improvement

Student provides a final product that does not demonstrates an understanding of the project. The product does not represent the honor project
