Art- Applied Lines (VanGogh Starry Night)
Students will create a drawing using lines in the style of Vincent VanGogh's Starry Night. Emphasis will be given on foreground, middle ground and background areas as well as movement and texture.

Color reflects the objects, with the use of shading in the actual color of the objects. Colors have been blended showing proficiency in medium. Student uses some of the oil pastel techniques discussed and demonstrated in class.

Color is added to most of the objects and shading somewhat reflects the actual color of the objects. Attempts to blend colors.
Needs Improvement
Little or weak color is added to enhance the objects. Shading is not used and does not reflect the color of the objects. No blending seen.

Above average well executed planned work with attention to details. Neatly colored throughout with strong sure strokes, thoughtful background treatment
Meets Standards
Finished, neat and clean work. Objects appear solid and believable with treated negative areas. Some attention to details.
Emerging Standards
Mostly finished with weak and/or uncontrolled coloring style, unsure or stray marks. Untreated negative spaces.
Needs Improvement
Unfinished with fingerprints and color strokes outside contours of objects. Little or no effort. Lots of stray or noticable pencil lines (should be erased)
Time and Effort
Exceeds Standards
Class time was used well and efficiently. Much time and effort was placed into sketching and working in the studio space. Students helped other students within the classroom.
Meets Standards
Class time was used wisely. Standard amount of time and effort went into the project. Students participated in conversations in the classroom to help solve problems within their art work.
Emerging Standards
Class time was almost always used well. More time and effort could have gone into the planning. Student was talkative, but still had enough time to complete the project.
Needs Improvement
Class time was not used well. Student was often fooling around and not working on their project. Student did too much talking and not enough working.
