Grammar and Spelling	Poor Writer makes more than 4 errors in grammar and/or spelling.	Fair Writer makes 3-4 errors in grammar and spelling.	Good Writer makes 1-2 errors in grammar and spelling.	Excellent Writer makes no errors in grammar and/or spelling.
Ideas	Poor The writing seemed to be a collection of unrelated sentences. It was difficult to figure out what the writer was talking about.	Fair Ideas were somewhat organized, but were not very clear. It took more than one reading to figure out what the writer was talking about.	Good Ideas were expressed in a pretty clear manner. Organization could be better.	Excellent Ideas were expressed in a clear and organized manner. It was easy to figure out what the writer was talking about.

Neatness	Poor Writing looks like it was shoved into a pocket or desk. Sloppy in print and looks hastily conceived. Ad is the same.	Fair Final copy is crumpled and stained. Was completes with some care.	Good Final copy is neatly written, clean, and has some folding and wrinkling. Wasn't kept in folder.	Excellent Final copy is pristine and neatly hand written. Submitted with pride along with colorful candy ad.
