Compare/Contrast Essay: Book to movie - THE JUNGLE BOOK 
The purpose of this rubric is to allow the younger student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast the book The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling and Walt Disney's The Jungle Book. In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, read the book and viewed the movie. Students will also have had instruction using technology i.e., word processing. This can also be used for older students who lack the appropriate skills to write this type of essay.
