Getting The Teachers Attention

At Risk

Over 5 Interruptions:

Blurts out answers and ideas. Continues to talk or argues with teacher if ignored. Disruptive behavior might be cause for removal from group.
Some Risk

3-4 Interruptions:

Blurts out answer and ideas but "catches" self and raises hand. Disruptions continue though.
Developing

1-2 Interruptions:

Sometime blurts out but behaviors change with self correction or brief teacher prompt.
Expected

0 Interruptions:

Always remembers to raise hands for permission to talk. Focussing on speaker during lessons. Does not visit with peers.
Class Participation

At Risk

Refusal to physically join group by remaining at desk, staying outside the instructional area and/or wandering the classroom. Distracted by environment. Constantly visiting with peers.
Some Risk

Distracted by surroundings and frequently has items in hands. Continual prompts needed to participate in lesson. Ideas not always shared, but may be listening to content.
Developing

Listening to instruction, raising hand to get the teachers attention. Some prompts needed to stay focused on lesson.
Expected

Eyes on the speaker, empty hands and feet to self, listening to instruction, raising hand to get the teachers attention.
On Task

At Risk

Is dependent on adult supervision and direct instruction to follow classroom routines and academic assignments. Frequently out of seat and/or visiting with classmates.
Some Risk

Frequently out of seat and/or visiting with classmates yet makes some progress on assignments. Behaviors distract classmates.
Developing

Follows classroom rules and routines most of the time. Brief reminders effectively focus student back to assigned task.
Expected

Independently follows classroom rules and routines without prompts.
Work Completion

At Risk

Does not complete work. (This may include not recording name on assignments.)
Some Risk

Requires a lot of support to locate and complete assignments. Inconsistently turns in work, some of which might not be done correctly. (This may include not recording name on assignments.)
Developing

Completes and turns in work with adult assistance and/or continual prompts.
Expected

Successfully completes work and turns assignment in on time. (Minimal direct-instruction or support is needed.)
Serious Behavior Infraction

At Risk

Fighting in class/ hallway.
Being disrespectful: Bullying/ cursing/ at peers or teacher.
Walking out of class.
Going to locker/ water fountain w/o permission.
Walking out of line, not adhering to the culture & climate of school (ABC's) policy .

Totally not following rules & procedures.
