Verb is written correctly in past, present, & future tenses following appropriate spelling rules. Student needs little or no prompting
Relates Graphics to Text

Student completes the survey and worksheet.

Emerging - Pre-Conventional

Has more than 1 spelling and/or grammatical error, excluding verb in sentences. Student has difficulty relating graphics to text.
Developing

Has only 1 spelling and/or grammatical error, excluding verb in sentences. Student explains how some of the diagrams are related to the text.
Beginning-Expanding

No spelling or grammatical errors, excluding verb in sentences. Student accurately determines whether graphic /diagram agrees with the text.
