The story is entertaining and engaging to the audience.	Good The story is appropriate and appealing. Most of the vocabulary is easy to understand. The story is enjoyable to the audience.	Fair The story is mostly appropriate. Most of the vocabulary is easy to understand, but the story does not hold the audience's attention.	Poor The story is inappropriate or the vocabulary is too difficult. The plot and or characters are not appropriate.
Writing 30 pts	Excellent The story uses short simple sentences and short paragraphs. The story has uses the terms and sounds great read out loud. The story uses strong descriptive words to bring the story to life. The story has a clear plot or method of organization that is unique and creative.	Good The story uses short simple sentences and short paragraphs. The story uses the terms rhyme that makes it sound nice when read out loud. The story has descriptive words, but more needed. The story has a plot or a method of organization that is creative.	Fair The story has short simple sentences and short paragraphs, but the writer may ramble. An attempt at rhythm and/or rhyme is made, but it is not always successful. Some description is included. The story has a basic plot or organization, but it is not very creative.	Poor The story does not have short simple sentences. The story has very little description and does not sound good read out loud. It may retell a known story and is not original.
