My Motto Poster
We have learned many different mottos that people live by that help them accomplish their goals or lead to success. We will now inspire others in our school the way you have been inspired by the characters we have read about: Mr. Escalante, Mr. Clark, and Winfred Rembert, Jr.

Poor
The motto is not a complete sentence or does not exist at all. The student does not demonstrate an understanding of the meaning of mottos.
Fair
The motto is not a complete sentence, but rather a phrase. The writer somewhat understands the meaning of mottos. Some students would be inspired, but the motto is not applicable to all students.
Good
The motto is 1-3 sentences long. It presents an effective message to the students of FMS. The motto is related to the students' lives: school success, family success, friendship, community service, discipline. The motto is inspiring so that many students' lives could be changed or affected by the message.
Audience
Poor
The motto is not written for students; it may be written for adults or even toddlers. Students would not be affected by the message. The poster is not school appropriate and will not be displayed in the halls; the poster was not approved by teachers and administrators.
Fair
The motto is somewhat written for the students; it is not entirely clear that students would be affected by the message. The motto may not be school appropriate; it may not send an effective message to students. Some administrators or teachers do not understand the poster or do not consider it useful for the students.
Good
The motto should be written for the students of FMS. It should also be school appropriate so that teachers and administrators would approve of the poster and be proud of the message.

Good
