Student is usually respectful of others. Accepts feedback graciously and follows directions.
Exceptional Performance
Student consistently exhibits a strong moral character, showing sensitivity, honesty and empathy. Student is respectful of other cultures, genders, languages, socio-economic status, and exceptionalities.
Communication Skills
Poor Performance
Student demonstrates poor communication skills. Frequently uses improper grammar or slang.
Fair Performance
Selectively demonstrates effective communication skills. This student is known to use improper grammar or slang, but not consistently.
Good Performance
Student exhibits good communication skills. Generally uses proper grammar.
Exceptional Performance
Student exhibits exceptional communication skills, displays a strong vocabulary, and is easily able to communicate with people of all ages.

Poor Performance
Student does not offer ideas or ask questions of others.
Fair Performance
Student seldom offers ideas or asks questions, possibly due to a lack of confidence.
Good Performance
Frequently contributes valuable ideas, asks questions of others, and is a positive team player.
Exceptional Performance
Consistently adds to discussions in a meaningful way, seeks out answers independently, and offers support to others.
Self-Reflection
Poor Performance
Student does not appear reflect on experiences, learning, practices, or understanding. Does not seem to learn from his/her mistakes.
Fair Performance
Student is developing an understanding of what it means to reflect on experiences, but does not always apply those reflections.
Good Performance
Student has demonstrated an ability to reflect on learning experiences and understands how to apply those reflections.
Exceptional Performance
Students consistently reflects on experiences in multiple environments and regularly seeks out opportunities for personal growth.
Responsibility
Poor Performance
Student has a poor attendance record and/or is frequently tardy. Student has a poor work history and is often late turning in assignments or making up work.
Fair Performance
Student does not have excessive absences or tardies, but higher than average. Student exhibits minimal participation in class and is occasionally late with assignments or making up work.
Good Performance
Student has a good track record with attendance and rarely checks out. Students is known to participate in class and is rarely late with assignments or making up work.
Exceptional Performance
Student has perfect attendance and is always on time. Student exhibits exceptional classroom participation and is never late with assignments.
Collaboration
Poor Performance
Student does not work well with others and usually prefers to work alone. Does not offer ideas, ask questions, or participate in meeting in which collaboration is expected.
Fair Performance
Student shares some responsibility when collaboration is expected, but lacks to confidence to contribute fully.
Good Performance
Student consistently shares responsibility when collaboration is expected and frequently shares ideas for activities and/or projects.
Exceptional Performance
Student not only shares responsibility on a consistent basis, but also brings out the best in others and helps them to become better collaborators.
Organization
Poor Performance
Student is disorganized and does not exhibit and understanding of what it means to be proactive.
Fair Performance
Student understands what it means to be proactive and organized, but does not always put it into practice.
Good Performance
Student is generally well organized, has a clear understanding of what it means to be proactive and puts it into practice on a regular basis.
Exceptional Performance
Student is exceptionally well organized. Not only does he/she understand what it means to be proactive, but helps others to apply the practice as well.
