Feature Article Rubric Feature Article Rubric Students will write a feature article based on an interview conducted with an assigned teacher. Articles will demonstrate a clear understanding of the feature writing format and the ability to answer a question with supporting details. Lead	Advanced Lead introduces subject and immediately engages the reader's interest, impelling continued reading. An anecdote, quote, or facts are used to grab the reader's interest.	Thorough Lead introduces topic and engages the reader's interest, encouraging continued reading.	Acceptable Lead introduces topic.	Partial/Minimal Lead vaguely introduces topic.
Body	Advanced Topic and Subtopics are well developed through explanation, descriptive details, anecdotes, and direct quotations.	Thorough Topic and Subtopics are adequately developed through explanation, descriptive details, anecdotes, and direct quotations.	Acceptable Topic and Subtopics are somewhat developed through two or three types of writing.	Partial/Minimal Topics and Subtopics need additional development due to the use of only one type of writing.
Conclusion	Advanced Ends with a clear, satisfying sense of closure.	Thorough Ends with a sense of closure.	Acceptable Somewhat provides a sense of closure.	Partial/Minimal Has an inadequate sense of closure.
