Cows in the Meadow Cows in the Meadow The Students will listen to a story and then create a Holstein cow collage dancing in a painted background of a flower-filled meadow. Rubric Code: FX2CWW7 By robimur Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Arts and Design Type: Project Grade Levels: K-5

Art Production Student will produce the follwoing according to teacher directions.

ut out & place all cow's body parts Student can cut successfully all body parts include 4 legs,2 horns, and 2 ears.	Needs Improvement N The student creates the cow with only a head and a body. Help is needed with cutting.	Developing Proficiency DP The student cuts all the shapes of the cow and puts it together with some of the body parts.	Proficient P The student is able to cut out the cow shapes to include all the body parts and is able to put most all body parts together appropriatedly according to directions.	Advanced Proficiency AP The student is able to draw the cow to put all the body parts together appropriatedly according to directions and embellish with more details, such as request pink paper for the tongue and the udders, drw a collar, create a bell, and/or horns.
The student paints a meadow The Meadow has colorful flowers and tall grass reaching upwards.	Needs Improvement N The student does not paint all or some of their background. The student is not able to paint without the help of the teacher.	Developing Proficiency DP The student does not paint some of their background. The student is not able to paint the flowers on stems reaching up toward the sky without the help of the teacher.	Proficient P The student paints the meadow grasses reaching upward toward the sky with two-four colors of flowers. The student paints only clouds in the sky.	Advanced Proficiency AP The student paints the meadow grasses reaching upward toward the sky with tfour or more colors of flowers. The student paint clouds, birds, and butterflies in their sky.
The student can glue the cow to the background to look like it is dancing.	Needs Improvement N The student can only glue what he/she has put together and has glued the cow with no concern for its location on the background.	Developing Proficiency DP The student has glued the cow to the paper upside down with no concern for its location on the background.	Proficient P The student has glued the cow just above the ground to show that it is dancing.	Advanced Proficiency AP The student has glued the cow just above the ground to show that it is dancing. Lines have been painted or drawn around some body parts to show that the cow is moving. The artwork is unique -unlike any other.
