Rules & Routines................... I can show respect for the choir room and choir materials, and show knowledge of and follow classroom rules and routines	Exceeds..................... Always follows rules/ procedures entering, during and exiting class in a positive way. Tries to encourage others do the same without being annoying or bossy.	Meets........................ Generally follows rules/procedures entering, during and exiting class. Needs very few reminders.	Meets/Showing Progress............. Is clearly making an observable more conscious effort to follow rules/procedures entering, during and exiting class, though still needing some reminders.	NYM/Improving...................... Usually needs reminders to follow rules/ procedures entering, during and exiting class; Does not seem concerned about making effort to change behaviors.	No Pass................ Active Involvement................. I can be on task and participating with a positive attitude; I can hold and use music and share with any partner well. I can make sure to look at the director when she is giving instruction to show that I am listening.	Exceeds..................... Always participates willingly during class, with a positive attitude. Listens to directions from the instructor and follows them. Always uses music and shares well with partner.	Meets........................ Generally participates during class; uses music, though may not share as well or needs reminders; usually follows directions from the instructor.	Meets/Showing Progress............. Is making observable conscious efforts to improve participation and to follow directions from the instructor. Is also making the effort to use music and share better.	NYM/Improving...................... Sometimes participates well, but usually with reluctance or a sluggish response to reminders; rarely uses choir music and needs constant reminders from the director to remain on task and focused. Posture and Expression............. When singing, I can stand with proper posture for good vocal support as taught by my director. I can also use energy and try to have an appropriate facial expression and communication in front of an audience.	Exceeds..................... Always sits up or stands with excellent posture for singing; communicates energy and emotion when singing when asked or when in front of an audience.	Meets........................ Generally sits/stands with good posture and is ready to sing; attempts to show energy and emotion when singing.	Meets/Showing Progress............. Is making observable progress in standing appropriately when singing; and, though struggling with energy and emotion when singing, is trying to improve.	NYM/Improving...................... Occasionally sits up straight and is ready to sing but needs reminding too often. Very little energy apparent and lack of facial expression.	No Pass................ Does not use good singing posture during class and is unwilling alter posture despite frequent reminders; often stops singing, or needs reminders to participate.	Weekly Totals
Prompt and Prepared................ I can be on time to every class with expected materials in hand or gotten out quickly once I have entered the room. I can learn to use my pencil to mark my music both when asked and on my own.	Exceeds..................... Is never tardy without a note; always has sharpened pencil, music and other materials ready to go, and is observed marking in music as appropriate.	Meets........................ Generally on time with music and pencil ready to go (tardy or without materials fewer than 3 times per month). Marks music when asked.	Meets/Showing Progress............. Is making an effort to improve record of being on time and having materials (tardy and/or forgotten pencil or materials more than 3 or 4 times in a month). Marks music occasionally. Is not a good music sharer.	NYM/Improving...................... Is often tardy; often needs to borrow a pencil or be reminded to get out music. Has trouble sharing and marking music.	No Pass................ Tardy frequently; rarely has own pencil nor makes the effort to get out or use music.	Weekly Totals
