Sentence Structures
	Developing 1 pts	Emerging 2 pts	Basic 3 pts	Proficient 4 pts
Complete Sentences	Developing Sentence is scripted for student.	Emerging Student is lacking in the ability to consistently write sentences with all the necessary components.<BR> Student requires sentence starters.	Basic Student is able to complete sentences but is lacking details and requires support to develop additional sentences.	Proficient Student is able to create complete, grammatically corrrect sentences that make sense in term of word order and tenses. Coherent thought throughout written response or paragraph.
Capitalization	Developing 1-1 support; requires teacher to point out mistake in sentence	Emerging Uses visual and verbal reminders to comply with rule.	Basic Most sentences comply with rule. Some sentences do not start with capital and some proper nouns do not start with capital.	Proficient All sentences use capitalization correctly.
Punctuation	Developing 1-1 support; requires teacher to point out mistake in sentence	Emerging Uses visual and verbal reminders to comply with rule.	Basic Most sentences comply with rule.
