Elements 20- pts.	Excellent Student included all of the parts of a plant and included labels, noting each function.	Good Student included most of the parts of a plant and included labels, noting each function.	Fair Student included some of the parts of a plant and included labels, noting each function.	Poor Student included little or none of the parts of a plant and included labels, noting each function.
Plan 20 pts.	Excellent I can really see what you are going to be building. All materials were listed and well thought out.	Good Good evidence of planning done. Materials were listed and thought out, but the plan wasn't quite complete.	Fair Some evidence of a plan. There was some thought to materials/building, but not really thought out.	Poor Little or no evidence was planned out. Student did not plan what he/she was going to build nor plan on what materials to use in the building.
Design 20 pts.	Excellent Great use of materials! You maximized your use of materials.	Good Good use of the materials and plan. The project was well put together, but there were parts that weren't well made.	Fair Some materials were used correctly.	Poor Your design lacked materials that were needed. It was really hard for me to tell what you built or were building.
Time Management 20 pts.	Excellent Great use of time. The student stayed on task during each phase of the process.	Good Good use of time, a few times the student got off task, but for the majority of the task time was well spent.	Fair Sometimes used time well. There were times when the student got off task during the imagine, plan, and design phase.	Poor Did not use time well. Time was wasted during the imagine, plan, and design phase of engineering.
Participation 20 pts.	Excellent The student never had to be redirected.	Good The student was not redirected that much.	Fair The student participated in the building process. Had to be redirected a few times.	Poor The student had to be reminded several times to stay on task.
