Approaching Standards Student creates an invention that is very basic and has little use for mankind or the environment.	Meets Standards Student creates an invention that is useful for mankind, but may not have great benefits for the world and/or environment.	Exceeds Standards Student creates an invention that is extremely useful for mankind and will be beneficial for humanity and/or the environment.
Description of Invention	Below Standards Student does not describe the invention with any detail.	Approaching Standards Student describes the invention with little detail.	Meets Standards Student describes invention with some details.	Exceeds Standards Student describes the invention with full detail, including what is used for, how it would be operated, and what is needed to operate to make the invention work.
Labeling of Simple Machines	Below Standards Student labels one or less simple machines on their invention.	Approaching Standards Student label few simple machines in their invention.	Meets Standards Student labels most, but not all, simple machines in their invention.	Exceeds Standards Student labels all simple machines in their invention.
