French 1 Weather Skit Evaluation 
Students are to create a skit that is 2 minutes in length per person that utilizes a minimum of 15 new vocabulary words from chapter 5 and a minimum of 6 question/answer combinations from the Exprimons-nous phrases found in the chapter. Students will be assessed on their written script, dialogue and pronunciation, and effort/creativity.

Student's pronunciation is at the level expected of a French 1 student.

Not Meeting

Student made little to no effort to speak in French and did most of the participation in English. Student pronunciation did not meet expectations.
Approaching

Student used the vocabulary presented in class, but did not put effort into comprehending others use of the language. Student pronunciation sometimes met standards.
Meeting

Student used the required vocabulary and made best effort to use the language. Student participation most often met standards.
Exceeding

Student used the required vocabulary and added in own language acquisitions and language acquisitions from previous chapters. Student had no more than 4 pronunciation errors.
Dialogue

Student's written dialogue was incomplete or had many spelling/grammar mistakes.
Approaching

Student's written dialogue was complete but had several spelling/grammar mistakes.
Meeting

Student's written dialogue was complete but had some grammar/spelling mistakes.
Exceeding

Student's written dialogue was complete and had no grammar/spelling mistakes. The dialogue was at least 2 minutes/person in length. For example, if you have 3 people your skit was 6 minutes in length.
Effort

Based on observation of student during prep time and presentation

Not Meeting

The student was not consistent in contributing to the group and did not<BR>
adequately prepare.
Approaching

The student did not meet preparation expectations and did not show consistency in his/her contribution. Less than half of the skit was memorized.
Meeting

The student met the expectations for preparing the presentation and consistently contributed to the group. Most of the skit was memorized.
Exceeding

It is apparent that the student has gone above and beyond in preparing for this presentation and contributed significantly to the group. The vast majority of the skit was memorized; student rarely referred to notes.
