Knocks ,Introduces Self, Provides for Privacy, Washes Hands and Applies Gloves

Covers the over bed table with clean paper towels, arranges items on the towels, raises bed for proper mechanics

Lower the rail next to you, place a hand towel over the chest, make a mitt with the washcloth, wash around the eyes with water. do not use soap. clean the eyes from inside to outside cleanning eye near you first. ask if the patient wants you to use soap on the face.

remove the sleepware. do not expose patient. place bath towel lengthwise under the far arm. support arm with palm or your hand under the person's elbow.

Place the basin on the towel. put the person's hand into the water. wash it well. clean under the fingernails with an orange stick. do ROM. Remove basin. pat dry and cover the arm

Place a bath towel over the chest crosswise. hold the towel in place. pull the bath blanket from under the towel to the waist.

Move the towel down lengthwise over the chest and abdomen. do not expose. pull the bath blanke down to the pubic area.

Change cool or soapy water. Measure the temp. raise the bed rail before leaving the side of the bed. lower when you return.

Wash it with long, firm strokes. rinse and pat dry.

Remove the basin. dry the leg and foot.apply lotion as directed. cover with the bath blanket and remove the towel. repeat for the near leg.

Rurn the patient onto the side away from you. the patient is covered with the blanket. uncover the back and buttocks

Give a back massage

empty basin, remove gloves, wash hands apply deoderant apply lotion. dress the patient. comb and brush hair. make the bed.
