ATTENDANCE 5 pts	Excellent EXCELLENT Student is present at every class meeting, or provides reasonable excuse for missing no more than 1 class.	Good GOOD Student is absent 1-2 classes and provides reasonable excuses.	Fair FAIR Student is absent for 1- 2 classes and does not provide reasonable excuses.	Poor POOR Student is absent for 3 or more weeks of class.
PUNCTUALITY 5 pts	Excellent EXCELLENT Student is on time regularly or early for class.	Good GOOD Student is usually on time or early (one or two latenesses).	Fair FAIR Student is sometimes on time (three or four latenesses).	Poor POOR Student is often late, four or more times.
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR 5 pts	Excellent EXCELLENT Student brings original thought and persepctive to discussion. Maintains active involvement throughout semester.	Good GOOD Student sometimes asks questions, and participates in discussions.	Fair FAIR Student rarely participates in class, struggles with discussions. Comments are often uninformed and rely on personal taste.	Poor POOR Student never participates in class, does not participate in discussions. Comments, when offered, are often uninformed and rely on personal taste.
PREPARATION 5 pts	Excellent EXCELLENT Student is always prepared for class with assignments and has clearly read the assigned materials.	Good GOOD Student is usually prepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.	Fair FAIR Student is frequently unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.	Poor POOR Student is almost always unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.
