Reflective Journal Reflective Journal Journal entries should be personal and reflective. The purpose of the journal is to reflect on events in your personal experience or assigned course readings. Entries should be two paragraphs in length. While mechanics and spelling are not evaluated, mistakes should not interfere with the reader's comprehension of the entry. Idea/Content	Excellent Shows detail and examples to support the prompt. Has a clear main idea and supports it.	Adequate Event or reading is described, but lacks examples, reasons, details. Main idea wanders away from established topic.	Weak Event or reading is described, but no details of supporting evidence. No clear main idea.
Personal Voice	Excellent Writing shows the writer's personality and thoughts.	Adequate Has moments of personality and some sense of personal identity.	Weak There is a complete lack of personal connection.
Requirements	Excellent Two paragraphs in length. While mechanics, spelling and grammar are not perfect, they do not interfere with understanding the entry.	Adequate Produced a little less than two paragraphs and/or some errors distract the reader.	Weak Produced much less than two paragraphs and/or errors distract the reader.
