Needs Work

Student does not have grasp of interpretation; student cannot make appropriate connection with the form of figurative language. The type of figurative language they choose was identified incorrectly, or unspecified.
Fair

Student is standard with their interpretation, and or doesn't make clear/deep connections to their selected song or poem. Student possibly incorrectly identifies the form of figurative language, but lacks in at least one area.
Satisfactory

Student demonstrates an accurate interpretation of their selected form of figurative language, while making deep connections with their song or poem as a whole. Student correctly identifies the type of figurative language used to represent their digital display.
Presentation

Needs Work

Audience cannot understand presentation because there is little or no connections made to figurative language. Student ends the presentation without providing relevant information to the assignment.
Fair

Audience has difficulty following presentation because their is a lack of focus or student is unprepared and or finds trouble coming up with what to say. Some areas of the presentation are hard to follow.
Satisfactory

Student presents information clearly, and is prepared to explain their interpretation. Student explains information that is necessary, and relevant without straying off topic.
Digital Display

Needs Work

Student's digital display makes no connection to the form of figurative language, or does not appear to be a thoughtful representation of the theme of the song or poem. Visual appeal could use a little more work.
Fair

Student's digital display partially connects to the meaning of the figurative language they chose. The display is mediocre, and does not align with their interpretation of the figurative language or lacks a strong connection to the meaning of the figurative language.
Satisfactory

Student's digital display enhances the meaning of the figurative language they chose to represent. The display is appealing to the audience, and makes sense or aligns nicely with the figurative language.
Procedure

Needs Work

Student had difficulty following directions, which significantly impacted their ability to work efficiently. In a few areas the student did not follow classroom procedures and directions, which prevented them from working at their best.
Fair

Student lacked in organization and following directions for the assignment in at least one area. For the most part, the student appropriately carried out classroom procedures and followed directions, but minor problems were present.
Satisfactory

Student correctly follows classroom procedures and assignment criteria i.e saved correctly, brought to class on time, laptop used appropriately, and all sources are cited. No noteworthy problems arose with the assignment. The student worked efficiently.
