Vocabulary Usage	Beginning Uses limited vocabulary but does not respond to the given prompt. Uses no "trigger" phrases that indicate use of the preterit tense.	Progressing Uses limited vocabulary that is related to the prompt. Uses at least 1 "trigger" phrase to indicated use of the preterit tense.	Proficient Uses appropriate vocabulary that focuses on the prompt. Uses 2-3 "trigger" phrases for using the preterit tense.	Advanced Uses appropriate vocabulary for the prompt. Utilizes previously learned vocabulary. Uses at least 4 "trigger" phrases that are used to indicate use of the preterit tense.
