Book Review	Exceeds Proficiency Project clearly expresses students opinion of the book thoroughly.	Meeting Proficiency Project shows the student has an opinion on the book.	Approaching Proficiency The students opinion of the book is weak or not clear.	Well Below Proficiency Student shows no opinion of the book.
Characters and Setting Page	Exceeds Proficiency Student fully describes both characters and setting.	Meeting Proficiency Student names characters but little or no description and/or setting description is also limited.	Approaching Proficiency Student writes names of characters and a one or two-word setting descriptions.	Well Below Proficiency There is no character and/or setting included.
Neatness/Self Edited	Exceeds Proficiency Writing and/or drawing shows final draft effort. There are only 1 - 2 grammatical or spelling errors.	Meeting Proficiency Writing and/or drawing is not always neat and may have corrections crossed out rather than erased. May have been rushed or less than full effort given. There are a few spelling or grammar errors.	Approaching Proficiency Writing and/or drawing is messy. Illustrations not colored and show little detail. There are some spelling or grammar errors. Presentation	Exceeds Proficiency Presentation was completed with eye contact and enough details to interest the audience in the book.	Meeting Proficiency Presentation was given but portions were read and slight interest was aroused.	Approaching Proficiency Presentation was read and little excitement was conveyed.	Well Below Proficiency Presentation was very short, presenter did not know words that were used in the writing. Not much excitement was generated for the book.
