Discussion Board Participation Rubric Discussion Board Participation Rubric This rubric will be used to assign points for your discussion board participation. Each discussion board post is worth 10 points with a 100% basis. You will receive one point for posting an assignment by the due date. One point will be DEDUCTED IF YOU FAIL TO POST THREADS AND/OR REPLIES ON TIME. Please note the consequence is the same regardless of which offense has occurred. Quality of Information	Proficient Information clearly relates to the main topic. The posting has a clear purpose, to inform persuade, or raise an interesting question. It provokes conversation or offers and opposing view. Multiple references to the lesson materials (i.e. articles, videos, etc.) were made.	Developing Information relates to the main topic in An attempt was made to inform, persuade, or raise an interesting question. The post may provoke conversation or offer an opposing view. A reference to the lesson materials (i.e. articles, videos, etc.) were made.	Beginning This posting does not reflect that the student did or understood the reading. This posting could have been made without the student doing any reading or research at all. The posting has not apparent purpose other than meeting the assignment requirement. It does not move the conversation forward or offer an opposing opinion.
Replies	Proficient Replies reflect that the student read and thought about the lesson materials and the post made by the person they are replying to. The reply moves the conversation forward or makes a reply to a question asked.	Developing Replies attempt to reflect on the lesson materials and/or post made by the person they are replying to. The reply attempts to move the conversation forward or makes a reply to a question asked.
