Individual Choreography Original Dance Final 
Instructor to assess group efforts in producing group choreography as an assignment in which all members contributed to producing choreography for the task at hand, preparation for Spring Concert. Choreography should have a clear form, using choreographic devices, transititions that are seamless and movements that represent your assigned section of music. Students should use choreographic devices to enhance their piece of choreography

Choreography

Movements were not just strung together...there was a thoughtful purpose for each phrase of movements. Creativity and Originality

Movement Knowledge

Concentrate on transitions, and sequencing

Dancer knows the movement extremely well with confidence and does not need to follow anyone else. Group has a sense of timing & direction. DANCE is clean and well rehearsed. Transitions are natural and seamless.

Elements

Included all dance elements throughout choreography; tools/devices...levels, rhythmic changes, canon, retrograde, repetition, movement quality,and embellishing movements.

Strong and consistent evidence that the dancers not only understand the elements of dance and group devices, but are able to use the elements and devices to add interest and variety to their dance. Dancers use at least 4 unique travel patterns, 6 different formations, high medium and low levels, at least 4 directions, and all 3 tempos fast, medium, and slow.
Good

The elements of dance and group devices are present and the dancers understand what they are. Dancers use at least 3 unique travel patterns, 4 different formations, 2 of any high medium and low levels, at least 3 directions, and 2 of 3 tempos fast, medium, and slow.
Needs Improvement

Some of the elements of dance and group devices are present. Dancer did not clearly understand what the elements of dance are. Dancers use only 2 unique travel patterns, 3 different formations, only 1 level high medium or low, only 2 directions, and 2 of 3 tempos fast, medium, and slow.

Dancer was unclear of the choreography techniques and included only one of the skills. Dancers use 1 or 0 travel patterns, do not change formations, use only one level and only one tempo throughout.
