TAP DANCE PERFORMANCE

Knowledge of Basic Steps	Poor Remembers a few of the basicsteps/ movements and tries, but looks lost and out of sync with others.	Fair Demonstrates some knowledge of basic steps, but unsure of some movements. Sometimes hesitates/ watches others and makes some errors.	Good Demonstrates good knowledge of basic steps. Keeps up with group. Few errors.	Excellent Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the basic steps and performs it well.
Technical skills	Poor Although the dancer remembers some of dance, little attention paid to how movements are done or other details of the dance.	Fair Only some understanding of technical elements (ie. footwork, quality of movements, body positions) demonstrated in performance.	Good Dance performed with attention to most details of technique, but hasn't attained proficiency in dance style yet. Some technical tap sounds are missing.	Excellent Dance performed with great attention to quality of movement, body position, placement on stage and other details of dance. Also demonstrates an excellent understanding of the tap dance style.
C;assroom Application of Skills	Poor The dancer is not very focused, concentrated or committed to performance.	Fair The dancer is generally focused, but only some attempt made to engage the audience.	Good The dancer communicates with the audience through eye contact and facial and body expression.	Excellent The dancer shows confidence on stage and is able to engage the audience completely through their performance. The dancer shows personal style and a fun attitude throughout the performance.
Musicality	Poor The dancer was unable to perform correctly according to the music notes that were given.	Fair The dancer was able to demonstrate some of the musicality that matched the music notes given, but not completely accurate at times.	Good The dancer was able to demonstrate musicality that matched the music notes given, with less than 5 mistakes.	Excellent The dancer was able to demonstrate musicality that matched the music notes given, with less than 2 mistakes.
