CHOOSE CORRECT OPERATION AND...	Unsatisfactory No work, no number sentence used.	Approaching Chooses correct operation but there are either no attempts to write the number sentence or it is incorrectly written.	On Level Chooses the correct operation and attempts to write the number sentence are evident. Number sentence may be either vertically or horizontally written.	Exceeds Chooses the correct operation and correctly writes the number sentence either horizontally or vertically. Uses a second number sentence to check the work.
SOLVES PROBLEM AND SHOW WORK	Unsatisfactory No work, no answer.	Approaching Attempt is made but the problem is solved incorrectly and does not show work.
