States of Matter

Define and Identify Matter/States	Excellent Student is able to clearly and concisely define and identify matter and the states of matter.	Good Student is able to define and identify matter and its three states of matter.	Fair Student is able to define and identify matter and one or two states of matter.	Poor Student is not able to identify any states of matter.
Examples of States of Matter	Excellent Student is able to give 3 or more examples for each of the three states of matter. The pictures are neat and correct.	Good Student is able to identify 3 examples for each state of matter. The pictures are neat and correct.	Fair Student is able to identify at 1-2 examples for each state of matter. The pictures are neat, but may have errors.	Poor Student is not able to identify an example for each state of matter.
Descriptions of States of Matter	Excellent Student is able to identify characteristics that describe each of the three states of matter with extensive detail. The list is neat and correct.	Good Student is able to identify characteristics that describe each state of matter in detail.	Fair Student is able to identify characteristics that describe each state of matter, but is lacking detail.	Poor Student is not able to identify any characteristics that describe each state of matter.
Written/Typed Information	Excellent Title is clearly present and information is typed or written neatly with no spelling, punctuation, or grammatical errors	Good Title is present and information is typed or written fairly neatly with no more than 0-4 spelling, punctuation, or grammatical errors	Fair Title is present and information is typed or written somewhat neatly with no more than 5-6 spelling, punctuation, or grammatical errors	Poor Title is not present and information is not typed or written at all.
