Journal Article Reflection This rubric is designed to evaluate a student's reflection on an assigned education journal article.
	Fair The assigned category needs work. 15 pts	Good The writer does a good job applying the category to the course topic. 20 pts	Excellent The writer completely covers all required information. 25 pts
Implications The information is useful to teachers and parents and applies to the course topic.	Fair Articles have minimum information that would be beneficial to teachers and parents.	Good Some connections to course topic and usefulness to teachers and parents are presented.	Excellent Articles are relevant to the course topic and contain excellent information for teachers and parents.
Information A brief summary of each article is presented.	Fair A brief summary of the two articles is attempted, but is extremely lacking in detail.	Good A summary of the two articles is provided, with a fair amount of bullet points.	Excellent A comprehensive summary of the two articles is given with all the required information.
Grammar & Reference The article is correctly referenced and writer uses standard English and correct grammar throughout the entries.	Fair Entries are of marginal quality. Some major errors in spelling, grammatical and/or punctuation errors is distracting to the reader. Articles are poorly referenced.	Good Entries are consistently of good quality with no major errors. Minimal spelling, punctuation errors. Articles are adequately referenced.	Excellent No errors exist in the reference to the topic or in grammar and spelling. Articles are adequately referenced.
Presentation Student presents a brief summary of each article and their own reflection.	Fair Articles were weakly presented and unclear how they relate to course topic.
