Format of the report	Meeting Standard The summary covers all of the necessary parts of the plot diagram (Intro., rising action, climax, falling action).	Approaching Standard The summary covers most of the necessary parts of the plot diagram (Intro., rising action, climax, falling action).	Below standard The retell does not cover enough of the plot to be considered a summary.
Organization of Report	Meeting Standard The summary includes the main events of the story, are clearly explained, and give a clear understaning of the plot of the book. Includes at least 3 conflicts. Plot in in correct sequence. Includes transitions to signify movement to different part of the plot.	Approaching Standard The report follows somewhat of a logical path. It jumps around a little bit, though. The plot and main events of the story are summarized. Includes less than 3 conflicts. Includes some transitions to signify movement to different part of the plot.	Below standard The report jumps around a lot and is hard to follow. The summary is hard to understand and doesn't clearly explain the plot or main events of the book. May or may not not include transitions to signify movement to different part of the plot.
