Statement of purpose and Focus 30 pts The response is fully sustained and consistent.	Poor - Content is incomplete.<BR> - Major points are not clear and /or persuasive.	Satisfactory Opinion is stated, somewhat focused and weakly maintained. Opinion is communicated within content but unclear at times.	Exemplary Opinion is clearly stated, focused and strongly maintained. Opinion is communicated clearly within the content.
Organization & Format 5 pts	Poor structure of paper is unclear and difficult to follow<BR> Introduction does not provide background on the topic.<BR> Paragraph does not use transitional strategies.<BR> Paper lacks flow from one idea to the next<BR> Opinions are not accompianed by reasons or facts. <BR> Introduction and Conclusion not appropriate for audience.	Satisfactory Structure of the paper is somewhat clear and easy to follow<BR> Introduction provides some background on the topic and previews major points. <BR> - Paragraph is mostly effective, some transitional strategies are used. Lacks flow from one idea to the next<BR> -opinions are sometimes with reasons or facts. <BR> - introduction and or conclusion is not effective for the audience and purpose	Exemplary - Structure of the paper is clear and easy to follow.<BR> - Introduction provides sufficient background on the topic and previews major points.<BR> - Paragraph effective, consistent use of transitional strategies<BR> - logical progression of ideas from beginning to end<BR> -opinion is supported with reasons.<BR> -effective introduction and conclusion for audience and purpose
Grammar 5 pts	Poor - Paper contains numerous grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors.<BR> - Language uses jargon or conversational tone.	Satisfactory - Paper contains few grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors.<BR> - Language lacks clarity or includes the use of some jargon or conversational tone.	Exemplary - Rules of grammar, usage, and punctuation are followed; spelling is correct.<BR> - Language is clear and precise; sentences display consistently strong, varied structure.
Musical Terminolgy 10 pts Musical terms are used appropriately and consistently throughout the review.	Poor Musical terms are not used or used incorrectly.	Satisfactory Musical terms are used somewhat appropriately and occasionally throughout the review.	Exemplary Musical terms are used appropriately and consistently throughout the review.
