Passage is performed with no rhythmic errors.

Passage is performed with one or two incorrect rhythms.
Developing
Passage is performed with three or four incorrect rhythms.
Needs Improvement
Passage is performed with more than four incorrect rhythms.
Tempo Fluidity
Exceeds Expectations
Passage is performed with a consistent tempo with no interruptions in pulse.
Meets Expectations
Passage is performed with one or two interruptions in a fairly consistent tempo.
Developing
Passage is performed with three or four interruptions, and the tempo is somewhat inconsistent.
Needs Improvement
Passage is performed with numerous stops and starts.
Tone
Exceeds Expectations
The student performs the entire passage with a deep and clear tone and appropriate bow weight, distribution and placement.
Meets Expectations
The student performs most of the passage with good tone and has only brief interruptions in tone quality and bow weight, distribution and placement.
Developing
The student performs the passage with a good basic tone but has some significant interruptions and developing bow weight, distribution and placement.
Needs Improvement
The student performs the passage with a fuzzy tone using inappropriate bow weight, distribution and placement producing poor tone.
