Relationship The student understands the relationship between multiplication and addition.	Poor The student shows little understanding of the relationship between multiplication and addition.	Fair The student shows remedial understanding of addition and multiplication relationships.	Average The student shows adequate understanding of how multiplication and addition are related.	Good The student shows marked understanding of multiplication and addition relationships. The student easily converts repeated addition to multplication and vice versa.
