Understanding Topic The student is able to demonstrate knowledge of topic as assigned.	Advanced Student generated work is outstanding in terms of topic development. Student goes above requirements.	Right There! Student demonstrates knowledge of the topic to satisfy requirements of assignment.	Good Job Student does not have a clear understanding of topic or uses too few examples.	Not There Yet Student does not provide evidence of topic knowledge.
Spelling Student will write for an audience using standard English conventions.	Advanced Student has no errors in spelling or grammar and uses a rich and varied vocabulary.	Right There!
