The presentation covers most of the information required to answer the questions about the civilization. Group members understand most of the information.
Below Standard
The presentation answers some of questions asked, but not all of them. Some group members are lacking a clear understanding of the information.
Poor
The presentation is lacking in elements required. There are many gaps in information presented. Students do not understand everything they are presenting.
Visual Aids
Exceeds Standard
The visual aids have an element of creativity and style. Information is presented in a clear manner with full understanding of the subject.
Meets Standard
The visual aids are clear and logical and contain facts with very few mistakes. Information is clear with fair understanding of the subject.
Below Standard
The visual aids show some understanding of the subject matter, but contain errors. They lack style, neatness and/or clarity.
Poor
The visual aids do not reveal a clear understanding of the subject matter and there are many errors. They lack neatness and clarity.
Work quality/effort
Exceeds Standard
The work done exceeds all expectations. The effort put into this task is the best it can be by the learner.
Meets Standard
Work is done with good effort that shows the capability of the learner. It is evident that time was put into this project.
Below Standard
Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed or not given appropriate time and attention.
Poor
Work is done with little effort, shows lack of quality, and may be incomplete. It is evident little time was spent on the final product.
Presentation
Exceeds Standard
The student is well-prepared, presents the information clearly, and displays a complete understanding of the information.
Meets Standard
The student presents the information clearly and displays a reasonable understanding of their information.
Below Standard
The information presented is not clearly displayed consistently throughout the project.
Poor
Not enough preparation was done for the presentation of the information. It lacks the expected elements.
Preparation
Exceeds Standard
Student clearly prepared, rehearsed and knew the material and the amount of time needed to present it.
Meets Standard
Student prepared the material and may or may not have rehearsed as evidenced by delivery.
Below Standard
Student prepared the material but did not seem to have rehearsed the presentation before delivery
Poor
Student did not prepare; delivery of material would indicate that student put it together at the last minute without careful forethought.
Language Skill
Exceeds Standard
Student was confident and there were little if any grammar or pronunciation errors; vocabulary was appropriate and not repetitive.
Meets Standard
Student was confident; some errors in grammar or vocabulary but they did not hinder understanding the material presented.
Below Standard
Student was not confident, errors in grammar and vocabulary impeded understanding of presentation.
Poor
Student had great difficulty with grammar and vocabulary. Presentation was difficult to follow because of this.
