Poetry Power Point Presentation Project
Students are required to select a poem and create a visual presentation of that poem that they must share with the class. The visual presentation must correspond with the reading of the poem.

Exceeds Expectation
The student provides an insightful and thoughtful analysis of the poem after their Power Point. The analysis is enhanced by the presentation and many poetic elements are considered during the analysis (imagery, simile, metaphor, symbolism, tone, sound devices, themes).

Some biographical information on the selected poet is provided.

Detailed and relevant biographical information on the selected poet is provided.

The overall presentation appears unrehearsed, notecards are not used, and the audience is unengaged.
The Power Point Presentation is un-timed and the student had to use the computer mouse to move through the presentation.
Meets Expectation
The overall presentation appears somewhat rehearsed. The student uses notecards and the audience is somewhat engaged.
The Power Point Presentation is timed, but not perfectly.
Exceeds Expectation
The overall presentation does not only appear to be rehearsed, but it may go above and beyond, using sound and video.
The student uses notecards effectively and the audience is engaged and able to understand the poem's nuances due to the clarity and quality of the presentation.
