Yearbook Spread Evaluation 
Students will acquire all of the elements necessary to produce a yearbook spread. All elements will be placed on spread and styles will be applied.

Captions

Every photo must have a caption and captions should follow these rules: ABCD formatting, with an attention getter, a 1st sentence in present tense, telling what's happening, and a 2nd sentence past tense, adding to caption.

Excellent

Every photo has a well organized caption that vividly describes what is going on in the photo.
Good

Most of the photos have a caption or all photos have captions but one of the captions is missing important information.
Fair

Some of the photos have captions or more than one caption is missing important information.
Poor

Fewer than half of the photos have captions or more than half of the captions fail to follow the requirements.
Tagging and Coverage

All students have been tagged and spread design makes sure to cover a wide variety of students and grades.

Excellent

All photos are tagged and coverage is wide with different groups represented.
Good

Most photos are tagged. Coverage may be limited.
Fair

Few photos are tagged OR photos chosen add more photos to students who are already over represented.
Poor

No photos are tagged, and coverage is narrow.
Theme

Theme is evident.

Excellent

Theme is evident in the body copy.
Good

An effort was made, theme can be inferred.
Fair

Effort was made, but theme is not clear.

Time On Task and Finished

Spread was turned in on time and time was used effectively.

Student spent class time effectively. Spread was turned in on time, completely finished.

Student spent most of class time on task.
Spread could use some more work. Grammar and mechanics should have been revisited.
Fair

Student only spent some of class time on task. Spread feels slightly unfinished, and grammar is unedited.

Did not spend adequate time working on task. Spread is not done.
